2 weeks?!

I can't believe that there are only 2 weeks left until my flight to London. Christmas today (and yesterday) with both sides of my family was great... the theme definitely was preparing me for studying abroad and interning. Lots of amazing professional clothes, travel books (Lonely Planet - London, Rome, and Athens), a big urbanite bag, a new watch - all new things for the new city girl.

I also took some time to do some flat hunting last night online and e-mailed about two flats. One's probably too good to be true so I'm not jinxing it by talking about it now (but if it does work out, I'll let you know!) and the other is an open room in a flat with 3 Ph.D. students. While I do want to live with Ithaca kids, maybe living with some students at other schools who are maybe more acclimated to London will be a good experience. We will see what happens - I'm not putting down any deposits until we get there.

So the next few days I'll be running errands (traveler's checks, getting organized, etc.) then up to Groton for a few days, and back on January 3rd to pack like crazy!

Alyssa,

I hope you'll be good enough to share your lonely planet books with the group. For Xmas my parents got me a book of 1001 places to see before you die (a little morbid for Christmas, but whatever). I hope we can trade at some point.

Oh and, though I bet it it now too late, I suggest you only get enough travellers checks for emergency money. From personal experiance, I've found debit cards are a better and cheaper way to go. Trust me, I know cheap.

Bowled a 166 last night (1/3/07)
